We’re Able To Accept Referrals

As registered Podiatrists, we’re able to accept referrals, and provide treatment through Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Health Funds and some aged care packages. If you are experiencing heel or foot pain, our team can conduct a thorough assessment of your feet, diagnose the cause and recommend a tailored treatment plan aimed at relieving discomfort.

We do not require a referral if you are attending as a private patient using your health fund, or not eligible to claim a Medicare rebate. DVA Gold Card holders require a referral from their GP and DVA white card may be eligible if their foot problem relates to their accepted disability. Medicare will only provide a rebate for people with chronic illnesses and conditions that are eligible for a GP Management Plan/Team care Arrangements (Care Plan).

Registered & Qualified Team

As registered Podiatrists through AHPRA and members of the Australian Podiatry Association we are dedicated to adhering to all obligations regarding reporting for EPC and DVA referrals, stay up to date on current practices and always exceed our minimum hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) required for registration.

We also offer Medicare claims processing at our clinic with the HICAPS machine, which can automatically process any health fund contributions. However, we will require the patient to have an EFTPOS card as we do not have access to the same online claiming system as GPs. With an excellent patient management system, our team will work collaboratively with your GP and/or other health professionals to assist in your recovery or treatment plan.

Get In Touch

From athlete’s foot to blisters, foot ulcers, calluses and more, our general podiatry service covers all your feet troubles. Read more on general podiatry in Newcastle here.

For diabetic patients, we recommend booking an annual assessment to eliminate common foot issues associated with the disease. Click here to learn more on our diabetic foot management service.

Foot and ankle pain can result from sport injuries, health conditions or even wearing the wrong shoes. Our podiatrists can provide thorough assessments and recommend a treatment plan.

Suitable for patients with arthritis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis and diabetes, our podiatrists can prescribe you with orthotics to be worn inside your shoe to alleviate discomfort.

We can provide nail surgery at our Newcastle clinic. The surgery can remove parts of the nail or a permanent nail removal may be required if it’s a re-occurring problem.

Plantar warts can be the result of small cuts and abrasions. Our team can assess your condition and recommend a treatment option. Learn more on wart management here.

As your child grows and begins to walk and run, it’s vital that you are not restricting development by frequently checking their feet and shoe size. If your child experiences any discomfort, we can provide paediatric podiatry services to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does a podiatry appointment take?

Most appointments take about half an hour. During this consultation we will carry out an assessment of your foot problem and then discuss a treatment plan with you. If you’re attending for a general treatment or diabetic assessment, this will also be performed on the initial consultation. If you require orthotics, you’ll most likely have to return at a later date for casting of the feet.

  • Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a podiatrist?

No, you don’t need to see your doctor for a referral unless you are claiming under DVA or Medicare EPC arrangements.

  • Do you have parking?

Yes, we do. We have ample car parking at the rear of the building, accessed via the driveway off Thomas Street. Our car parking spaces are easy to enter and exit.

  • How much does a podiatry appointment cost?

To find out the cost of a consultation, or to make an appointment please phone our reception staff. Podiatry consultations are usually covered under private health care insurance – and in some instances they’re partially covered by Medicare upon EPC referral from your GP.

  • How do I make a podiatry appointment?

Appointments can be made by contacting our reception staff on (02) 4954 8479.

  • How do I pay for my podiatry appointment?

Required at the time of treatment, payment can be made with cash, debit card or credit card (Visa and MasterCard accepted). Depending on your private health insurance arrangements, we have a HICAPS facility, which lets you claim on the spot, leaving you to simply cover the gap payment. Please bring your private health insurance card to take advantage of HICAPS.

EPC claims will need to be paid in full, which can be claimed back through Medicare if you have a debit card with you.

  • Are rebates available for podiatry?

Rebates are available on all of our services through your private health insurance, depending on your level of cover. If your health fund is not registered for HICAPS, we’ll supply you with a receipt to claim your rebate back. Please be aware that amounts vary between insurance companies. We recommend that you contact your insurer for more information regarding your individual cover.
